Forêt Noire

The Forêt Noire: a chocolate pastry shaped as a tree stump with one cherry on top. It is drawn in pencil, then shown as the real pastry.

Forêt Noire means black forest. Rich chocolate layers, delicate textures, one cherry.

The name

Why Forêt Noire.

A Forêt Noire has nowhere to hide. Chocolate, cream, one cherry: if one of the three is ordinary, you taste it. We put that pastry’s name on the door, and we make everything else by the same rule.

The house’s own drawing of the name: a tree stump in graphite with one red cherry on top
